America x Reader: Surprise! [Birthday Fic!]

You greeted each person as they entered Alfred's house. Luckily, you got your boyfriend's keys; which were not so discretely hidden under his American flag designed doormat, and told all his friends at what time to come over.

Today was your American's boyfriend birthday which just happened to be also during the big 4th of july.

In less than 2 hours, you managed to clean up the place as well as prepare for Al's surprise birthday party. Food, drinks as well as music were all prepared and with each guest, a present was added to the already enormous piles of colorfully wrapped gifts.

You had told Alfred that you had a surprised gift for him and so, could not go in his home until 7pm. You decided this year that you'd throw him a surprise birthday party, because Alfred always enjoys surprises. Whether it was him being surprised or you being surprised, he just loved surprises. The moment he'd come in, you made sure everyone knew what to do and where to hide.

Speaking of your boyfriend, you suddenly realised just how lucky you were to meet such a sweet and funny guy. It's been a while that the two of you were dating, and many of his close friends were surprised that, as they say, could keep a girlfriend for so long. Actually you've been together for about 4 almost 5 years now and you were also surprised at how quickly time passed when you were by his side.

When the clock struck 7, everyone promptly hid in their respective hiding spots. Although, there were some exceptions such as Francis and Arthur arguing behind the couch; in which you managed to shut them up by throwing a random Italian shoe. There was also Lovino who decided to just stay in the kitchen and of course Veneziano hiding behind Ludwig, who was trying to hide behind a lamp.

Everything was silent and dark as you stood alone in front of the main door waiting for your boyfriend to show up.

Soon the noise of keys shaking was heard and you smiled warmly as Alfred opened the door.

"Oh hey [name]!" Alfred greeted excitedly as he quickly embraced you.

"Hi Alfie!" You greeted enthusiastically, hugging him back and pecking his lips.

"So what was the surprise gift you were talking about?" He asked as he walked towards his
living room, where everyone was hiding.

"Oh nothing much…" You answered slyly as you followed him.

The moment he entered, he was blasted with silly string of multitude colors as everyone screamed 'Surprise!' and got out of their hiding spots

As Alfred tried to defend himself, you handed him two cans of silly string as you took out your own two cans and the both of you attacked the others with it resulting in a silly string war between everyone.

"Eat silly string Arthur!" Alfred yelled as he aimed at the defenseless brit.

"Hah! I'd rather eat your so called burgers!" Arthur replied as he ducked at the last moment.

"Hmph! I'd rather eat Alfred's burgers than those atrocities you call scones!" Francis replied, as he shot Arthur with silly string while high fiving Alfred and everyone nodding in agreement.

"You wanker!" Arthur yelled as he chased the duo.

"Who hit me?" Kiku shouted as he held the can dangerously, trying to take off the red string from his hair.

"Da ze! I got Kiku, now his breasts belong to me!" Yong Soo suddenly said glomping the
Japanese.

"Vee this is so much fun!" Veneziano exclaimed as he accidently shot himself with his can.

"Veneziano… you're supposed to hold the can the other way." Ludwig stated as he face palmed.

"This is pointless I'd rather go and play some mus-" Roderich exclaimed before he was cut off by being shot with yellow silly string.

"Kesesese! Got ya Roddy!" Gilbert cackled as he ran away from Roderich and Elizaveta who had suddenly appeared.

Soon enough, silly string decorated not only the living room, but nearly the whole house as the war had escalated all around the place and not just one room. Yet somehow the place managed to look decorated for a party as the colors stuck to the walls, floors, ceilings and of course on people.

Everyone laughed loudly and gleefully enjoying the mess they caused, and you sneakily went in the kitchen, the only place which was not tainted and with Lovino, you managed to bring in the largely decorated birthday cake.

Immediately, everyone's eyes were glazed as they hungrily stared at the scrumptious tiered cake. The first layer was decorated as a night sky with fireworks, the second was drawn with presents all around and the last layer had many drawings of the American flag.

"Woah! Awesome cake!" Alfred exclaimed as he tried to wipe off his drool.

"Hmm… who made it? It sure doesn't look like the frog's doing." Arthur stated as he observed the colorful cake.

"I-I-I did…" a voice spoke behind Al and everyone turned towards the voice in surprise.

"OH! Mattie! You came! I didn't see you bro. Thanks for the awesome cake." Your boyfriend said as he patted his twin's back.

"No problem Al… Happy birthday." Matthew said quietly.

"Happy birthday Alfie!" You said in a singsong voice as you kissed him on the lips.

After the both of you separated, everyone, though some with flushed faces, began singing happy birthday to the American.

As they sang, you intertwined your hand with Alfred's as he had a huge grin plastered on his face.

"Happy birthday Alfie! This is my birthday gift, were you surprised?" You whispered into his ear gently.

"I love it [name]." He answered back, as he let go of your hand so he can wrap his arm around your waist, bringing you closer to his side.

"Happy birthday to you!" Everyone chorused loudly as they pointed at the birthday boy.

"You guys… you guys are awesome you know that?" Alfred said suddenly, almost trying to hide his tears of happiness, which resulted in girls aww-ing at him.

"Damn right I know I'm awesome! Kesesesese!" Gilbert yelled out, as everyone laughed.

"I… actually thought people forgot about my birthday since no one but [name] congratulated me today… and everyone's here and… thanks. You guys are the best!" Alfred grinned as everyone clapped.

"Well, let's light up those candles!" You yelled out as everyone yelled out in agreement.

"Wait a second! I want to add one thing to this heroically awesome cake." Alfred shouted as he climbed the ladder steps and delicately placed a bride and groom topper on the cake.

Everyone was shocked and your eyes widen while you watched Alfred climbed down the ladder and stood in front of you.

"A-A-Alfred w-what is this?" you stuttered out, face red.

"I… finally found what I wanted. Surprise!" Alfred answered cheekily, as he slowly went down on one knee.

Everyone watched, surprised, at the scene that was unfolding.

"[Name], will you marry me?" Alfred asked seriously as he stared at you.

"Yes! Of course!" You said hugging your now fiancé, with tears in your eyes.

Alfred wiped away your tears and you both just laughed at each other for a few seconds as everyone cheered from the background.

Closing the gap between you two, Alfred gently kissed you as you smiled into the kiss realizing that this was the first of many more.

As you two separated, you hugged his neck and you whispered happily in his ear.

"Happy birthday Alfie, I love you."
